Tour Itinerary (2 Days / 1 Night)

Day 1: Abu Dhabi to the Empty Quarter
  • 1.00 pm - Private 4x4 pickup from your accommodation in Abu Dhabi.
  • 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm - Scenic 2.5-hour drive from the city to the deserted areas of Liwa, with a short break for refreshments.
  • 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm - Arrive at the Liwa desert entry point, reduce tire pressure, and begin the exhilarating 4-hour off-road dune drive and dune bashing experience.
  • 4.30 pm - Visit the traditional Liwa camel farm (Majaheem breed) for photos and interaction.
  • 5.30 pm - Arrive at the private Liwa oasis camp site to witness and photograph the breathtaking sunset.
  • 5.30 pm - 7:00 pm - Your guide sets up the campfire and prepares the live BBQ dinner.
  • 7.00 pm - Authentic BBQ dinner served, accompanied by Arabic coffee and soft beverages.
  • 8.00 pm - Relax around the bonfire, enjoy shisha smoking, and stargaze under the clear desert sky.

Day 2: Sunrise, Fort Visit & Return
  • 5:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. - Wake up to witness the magnificent desert sunrise.
  • 7:00 a.m. - Enjoy a light, traditional breakfast and fresh Arabic coffee.
  • 8:00 a.m. - Depart from the desert campsite.
  • 9:00 a.m. - Visit the historical Liwa Fort (Mezairaa Fort) for a cultural stop.
  • 12:00 p.m. - Travel back to your hotel or desired drop-off point in Abu Dhabi.

We offer pickups from all Abu Dhabi city hotels, residences, malls, the Airport Premier Inn hotel lobby, Abu Dhabi Cruise Terminal, and other major landmarks.

We include private pickup and drop-off from Abu Dhabi (hotel, mall or airport) in a 4×4 Land Cruiser, guided dune drive to Liwa, visit to a camel farm, sunset and sunrise stops, private desert camp with seating and bedding, bonfire and shisha, live BBQ dinner, morning breakfast with Arabic coffee, bottled water and soft drinks, plus visits to Liwa Oasis and Liwa Fort where included in the itinerary.

Lunch, alcoholic beverages, personal expenses (souvenirs), and tips are not included. Any special meal requests should be informed to us before the tour.

Pickup is typically around 1:00 PM from Abu Dhabi. We return the following day around midday after breakfast — the full experience is about 23–24 hours including travel.

Liwa is approximately 220–250 km southwest of Abu Dhabi. The drive takes around 2.5 to 3 hours depending on traffic and stops.

Expect an adventurous off-road dune drive through wide, remote dunes of the Rub’ al Khali. Our focus is on safe exploration, scenic stops and photography rather than extreme thrill driving.

Moderate dune driving is included. We avoid extreme maneuvers — rides are tailored to guest comfort and safety. Inform us if you prefer a gentler drive.

Each Land Cruiser seats up to 4 adults. You can book shared seats or a private vehicle for your group.

We require a minimum of two adults to operate the tour.

We serve a live BBQ dinner with vegetarian and non-vegetarian options and a light breakfast the next morning (eggs, pastries, fruit, coffee/tea). Please tell us of any dietary requirements at booking and we will accommodate where possible.

We set up a private camp with Arabic seating, mattresses, blankets and pillows. Basic, clean toilet facilities are available near the campsite.

Yes — families are welcome. Inform us of young children or elderly passengers so we can adjust dune driving and seating. We can tailor the experience for children under 4 with gentler driving where needed.

Wear light, breathable clothing in daytime and bring a jacket for cool nights. Closed-toe shoes, hat, sunglasses and sunscreen are recommended. Bring personal medications and a camera. We provide camping gear and bottled water.

Mobile coverage can be limited or intermittent in remote Liwa locations. Please let family or colleagues know you may be out of signal range overnight.

Yes. Our guides are experienced desert professionals, vehicles are well-maintained and we choose secure campsite locations. Guests must follow guide instructions during dune driving and camping for maximum safety.

Alcohol is not provided as part of the tour and we do not recommend bringing alcohol to the campsite. The focus of the experience is nature, culture and stargazing.

Yes. Liwa’s remote skies are excellent for stargazing and astrophotography. We include sunset and sunrise stops ideal for photography.

In rare cases of sandstorms or heavy rain we may reschedule or refund the tour. Safety comes first — we will contact you with alternatives if conditions are unsafe.

October through March is ideal — milder days and cool nights make camping comfortable. Summer tours operate but daytime heat can be high.

Prices start from AED 649 per person for shared bookings. You can also book a private 4×4 vehicle (up to 4 guests) for an all-inclusive price — please check current rates on our booking page as prices may vary by season and availability.

Cancellations made at least 48 hours before the tour start receive a full refund. Cancellations within 48 hours are non-refundable. If we cancel due to safety or weather, you will receive a full refund or rescheduling option.

Yes — we provide clean, basic toilet facilities near the campsite. For remote locations we ensure portable facilities are available and maintained.
